Plainer is a Meanjin-based song-disass
embly ensemble. Minimalism attempted with as many people as possible. “Her
e for a long time, not a good time.” (sic) They’ve shared stages with Wedn
esday, Codeine, Florist, Alan Sparhawk, Papa M, and Cash Savage, and have
played at Sonic Masala and Sonic Boom festivals.
Their debut album, ‘Partnerships' was released to quiet nods and kind words in March 2026.
MJ Lenderman once called them “a Monster Band”, which could mean sever al things.
